Last Sunday, a three bedroom Blackheath weekender built by Blue Mountains Building Company was featured on the front cover of Domain.

A first-time investment project for a young architect and his interior designer partner, the house was designed to capture the northern light, and offers several stand out features: beautiful Blackbutt floor, double glazing, 2.7 metre high ceilings and careful positioning on the block. There’s a rear deck covered in polycarbonate and slatted to take advantage of the established garden – saved and protected during the construction process – as well as an internal courtyard offering northern warmth and seclusion.

Richard and his team paid particular attention to finishes, evident in the neat and streamlined tiling, beautifully laid flooring, and joinery details, as well as in the set out of the slab which had to precisely allow for changes in floor level heights between tiled bathrooms, carpeted bedrooms and wooden flooring to ensure smooth transitions through the home’s internal spaces.

The house was sold at Ray White auction last Sunday where we received many compliments on the quality of the build and its presentation.

If you are thinking of building a premium investment property, call Richard to discuss your plans.
